Tianjin folk painted clay sculpture is a Chinese folk art developed during Qing Dynasty.  Its representative works are  Ni Ren Zhang's  sculptures. Ni Ren Zhang  (Clay Figuring  Zhang),  called  Zhang Mingshan,  is  the founder and famous for his crafts.  His works  mostly  depicted common people in real life & folk customs.  With continued efforts, developments & renewal of several generations,  they become a famous art  welcomed by all people and enjoy high prestige both at home and abroad.  It is one of the treasures in the realm of Chinese folk art.
