Pere David's Deer

T132  (1988.12.20)

David's Deer (Elaphurus Davidianus), originally found in China, has a nickname of  "neither fish nor fowl"  for it has a head that looks like a horse's,  horns that look like a deer's,   hoofs that look like a cattle's, and a tail that looks like a donkey's. China set up a nature reserve for David's Deers in Dafeng County, Jiangsu Province, in 1985.

In 1988, China issued 2 kinds of stamps, perforated (see above) and imperforated, with same picture.
